A Study on Chages of G.P.T. and G.O.T. Activities by Feeding of Different Dietary Proteins

Abstract
|
|
|
This study was designed to observe the change of G.P.T. and G.O.T. activities in organs according to the lapse of time after taking some diets. The subjects were 54 pure male albino rats weighing 270-280g. They were divided into the standard diet group, the high protein diet group and the high carbohydrate diet group, and were re divided into 1 hour group, 3 hours group and 6 hours group, according to the lapse of time after taking some diets.
Each animal was sacrificed on the corresponding day, and G.P.T. and G.O.T. activities in the liver,. kidney and serum were determined.
The results were summarized as follows:
1. The G.P.T. activity in the liver changed markedly when 1 and 3 hours passed since taking some diets.
2. The G. O. T activity in the liver was higher in the standard diet group than in the high protein diet group and the high carbohydrate diet group, in all periods after taking some diets.
3. The G.P.T. activity in the kidney was greatly lower in the lapse of 6 hours than in the lapse of 1 hour.
4. The G.P.T. and G.O.T. activities in the serum showed no great change.
